Hello,

I have a question concerning the security settings.
We have MP2 (SQL-Server 6 with patch 050319). A colleague migrated the MP2 from an older version by copying the tables to the new system.
I found that this caused several problems with wrong (auto) index in some tables.
He did not set up the security. At the moment nearly everybody has sysadmin rights. I tried to setup new roles and I am faced with a big issue:
Any non-sysadmin can't create a purchase request. Even if the new role has no restrictions !?
How can I handle the security issue ?

Assign the security to create PR to each role.

Hello Josh,

sounds well to do this.
But as far as I understood the security settings of MP2, any new role has (nearly) all features of sysadmin. What I can do in the security settings then is disallow features and by this reduce rights.
Am I wrong with this ?
How can I add a security to a role ?

Depending which version you came from to get to this one, you could find the security model tables have changed, as have the internal references.
This will cause problems in the GUI for MP2. There are a set of security tables, off the top of my head I cannot think of all of them.
If your guy needs a hand, email me on stuart.kiddle@gmail.com

There is a big change in 6.0 for security when the introduction of multi site came in and it looks like your guy has issues on this.

Based in the UK, but if he wants to send me a scrubbed database I am willing to take a look to see what I can do to help.
