The powers that be have decided to change our equipment numbering system. It's going to look completely different than what we have now. The idea is to make it more "standardized" in order to fully utilize the equipment tree function and establish legitimate parent/child relationships. Way back when I imported all my equipment data, but it was all new then.
So,how can I identify what I want overridden (change the equipment # but keep everything attached to it-should be global, right)? and what I want to add when I import a spreadsheet? I'm working with Access2000. Thanks in advance. Bill |

How many equipment do you have in MP2?
The simplest way is going to be go into MP2 and change the equipment numbers there, if you do this it will retain all the current information as well as maintain your history. There is not a way to use the import wizard to override the current data. Importing different equipment numbers will duplicate the current equipment. Please email me with any questions: Jonathan.Clark@cmmsdatagroup.com |

Bill,
When I used to use MP2, I used its equipment number change feature a lot when we did something similar to what you are wanting to do. It worked great. We did not have any problems with it. I would suggest trying it in a test or development database first if at all possible. This way you can experiment and see what the real effect is. Dwayne |
