Hi all,

We are using MP2 Access 2000 version.

Recently we hired a new employee to take over our maintenance PM's. The tasks in our system are assigned to an employee who is no longer here. Is there any way to transfer all the tasks that were assigned to the old employee to the new employee at one time instead of manually going into each task and re-assigning them one at a time?

Thank you,

Kim

Using MP2 there is no way to automatically reassign all the tasks from one employee to another.

One option would be if you have someone proficient in Access you could have them open the database in Microsoft Access and manipulate the data through the back-end. This would be faster if you have a large amount of tasks.

Changing the Assigned to entry can be done very quickly in List view.
Open the Tasks module, select the list view Tab.
Set your Cursor in the "Assigned to" field.
Sort Alphabetically
Starting with the 1st entry you wish to change, use the Lookup feature to select the new Assignee.
Highlight the new Assignee and Copy to the clipboard (on your keyboard hold down the Ctrl key and then press the C key)

Use the Down arrow key to move to the next record
Paste the new Assignee into the Assigned to field by holding the Ctrl key and presing the V key.
Repeat this process by pressing the down arrow key and pasting.

Using this method you will be able to change several hundred records in 10 - 15 minutes.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me,
