Does any one have a step by step procedure or cheat sheet to use with the DataStream Inspection Module?

I would like to create some simple routes like the example below.

Equipment 1 Motor
Point 1 Motor Inboard Temp
Point 2 Motor Outboard Temp
Equipment 2 Motor 2
Point 3 Motor Inboard Temp
Point 4 Motor Outboard Temp

Hello,

if you want to do that with a route, just follow this procedure:
1. Define a route which consists of the equipments.
2. Define a PM schedule to any object and attach the route to that PM.

maintiger,

Thanks for the response. I think you might be referring to setting up routes in [WMROUT]. I use route to perform simple PM on several position or assets. D7I has an additional module that can be purchased that is used to create inspections. These inspections are often used in conjunction with hand-held units to collect data, but we would enter data from a printed copy of the inspection. The inspection module lets you create a sequence of measurement points that form a route. You can record static data based on the units you desire. However, I am assuming the inspection module must be set up as a route as well. The on-line help doesn’t give you anything as to how to create an inspection. It does give you examples of each topic such as Aspects and measurement points, but it doesn’t tell you how to put it all together into a workable inspection route.

The example above would be to separate positions or assets with two measurement points each.

If you want to register the results, you need to set up your units. In the case of vibration measurements, this would be time consuming because the inspection works with descrete points. How would you insert for instance the spectrum of a horizontal vibration? Take an average or a maximum?
Most vibration software has its own analyzing module, with options to export graphs, data etc.

I would in case of problems, attach the report as generated by your vibration software in pdf, word, whatever, whith the necessary description to find it agin when needed in the vibration software.

I think the inspection module is something that would take the place of log sheets like those that operator might use on a daily basis. Vibration reading might be recorded as an overall reading like what you would see on a Bently Panel. If the reading ever exceeds a set point D7i would generate a work request to have someone check into the situation.
