I forgot to add, depending on when you were looking for email alerts, it can be setup through SQL Server.

The SQL hint was what I needed. I have been able- after many failures- to get the program to select the correct person and send an alarm to their email- only thing is, it only works on emails out side of my facility. So, am bouncing the mail through a server in another state and right back to us here.
