Am I correct in understanding that MP2 offers a web interface that allows remote users to directly put work order requests into the MP2 work order system. If so, can anyone help with a description of how this works? Cost, procedure, etc.

We don't use MP2, but switched from MP5 to Datastream 7i (i stands for internet or web-enabled)
In MP5 every computer used, needed to have an .exe installed locally. In 7i a browser (internet explorer/ netscape) is used to do all the necessary things in Datastream. Advantages: 1) For updates/patches troubleshooting in the past our IT department had to work physically on the computer (even remote, with vnc or other tools) Imagine 300 users/computers where every day someone manage to screw-up even a electric pencil sharpener 2) Now they just make care that the DataServer is online and the intranet is available. Once MP-5 couldn't start-up because the user made the screen resolution 320x240 and he used big fonts. Steven van Els, CMRP |

Datastream has a web interface called weblink.
The cost is approximately $200 per named user license, but varies depending on the number of licenses bought. Annual Tech support is extra. Weblink populates MP2'S On-Site requests module. Depending on the number of MP2 licenses that you bought you may be able to train your users to input On-Site requests directly. If you are introducing a large number of infrequent users to your CMMS you will need clear instructions. A regularly updated Work Request report posted on your Intranet or on a public drive can make it easier for users to check request status.
