First, is there a way to track work orders that are created out of a PM? For instance, a bad bearing is found during a lube and inspect route, and a subsequent work order is created to fix the bearing. Is there someway to track this?

Also, I just updated the task and labor durations for our tasks. Now in the "details" tab, the labor code shows priorities for the different labor types that are just counting numerically per task... So some are up over 100 for priority. What is this for and what does it affect?

Thanks in advance for any help,
Jack

Jack,
I dont know of a way to link the 2 workorders together. Usually we are interested in knowing how many PM workorders resulted in a corrective workorder (CW). Our goal being to reduce the amount of these types of tickets.

Our pm workorders are wo type "PM". All workorders that are as a result of a PM are coded "CWPM".

Later you can pull up all the CWPM tickets in history by equipment number or drill down any way you want using the equipment reports menu.

If you sort history by equipment number you will get them all....

Thanks Jim. That's what we are doing as well. Too bad we can't link them.

You could reuse the Work order Number adding a suffix.
e.g. if PM work order 01234 resulted in a corrective work order, use 01234C as the work order number for the corrective work order.

When sorted by work order number these 2 work orders will be listed together.

Donal,
What a great idea. We make a filter for the equipment # in workorder history now but I can see the merit in this scheme. We also could number workorders by (equipment number)+ (workorder number)+(suffix)....The discussion is pretty lively here
