Hello,
What is the best way to connect the motor on inverter or softstarter: star or delta??
Why would I choose one above the other?
And what when there is no N-cable?
Thank you.

In case of a VSD, here comes the 'star-delta-trick':
If a VSD output frequency shall not exceed (50/1.73 = 29 hz) then you better connect the motor in star. The reduction in current of 0.57* (and increase of volt/hertz by 1.73*) enables you to buy a smaller and cheaper VSD.

I'm posting this paper I found.
It explaines that a star connection reduces voltage spikes.
