My facility is planning replacement of six 600 HP pulverizer motors, going to 700 HP since the existing motors run in their service factor. I am looking for someone to evaluate the exisitng motor bases for their stability. Also I realize this is a non-commerical site so if anyone has anything good or bad to share about secific motor manufacturers please contact me by email. Thank you.

If I remember correctly, the rule of thumb is that the weight of equipment including its frame should be about one sixth of the foundation plinth for stability and to prevent vibration. What do you think?
