We are trying to get a motor analysis program started here. My question is does any one have an effective process of tracking motors. We have discussed a numbering system but do not know of an effective way of attaching a number to the motors. Thanks in advance

We use metal tags that are "riveted" to the motor casing. It took about a year and a half to get them all in place. We have someone responsible for making sure new numbers are put on new motors.

The rivets are blind rivets that you drill about two 1/8" holes and tap the rivets in. (Believe me, I was tired of seeing rivets after that first year)You only need a spot about 1 1/2 inches long by 3/4 inch wide in order to put the tag.
