Hello, we are looking in diferent optionS to do online monitoring of our electrcial equipment (MOtor, generator and Trasformer), seeking in internet I found About GE System 1 aplication package for Electrical equipment.

We have over 1700 motors installed.

I was also looking at MCEMAx from PDMA.

The advantage i see on Ge System 1 is that we can monitor all equipment without installation of portable equipment, current and voltage data is been retrived frOm motor relay all time.

The advantage I see on MCEMAx IS that apparently the software helps to diagnostic fault easier, I do not have any knowalege of current signature analysis. An also can do offline motor testing as well (Polarization index chart, toque calculation etc)

In this forum many people have talked very good about MCE MAc form PDMA, but no one as mentioned GE System 1.

HAs any of you work with SYsytem 1 GE motor aplication package? what exactly our what the called motor rule pachgaes..

Thank you

Daniel:

You may also wish to look into:

Baker Instruments: http://www.bakerinst.com who was recently purchased by SKF (surge and electrical signature analysis/torsional analysis)

ALL-TEST Pro, LLC: http://www.alltestpro.com (motor circuit analysis and electrical signature analysis).

Both have excellent technologies, as well.

Additionally, the AREVA EMPATH system has the ability to be networked for continuous monitoring of electrical signature analysis.

While I am not familiar with the GE System 1, it appears it is more of a common electrical information system rather than electrical signature analysis, as well as taking in data from vibration, etc. Almost appears to be an extension of their Multilin system.
