Anyone have any experience (good or bad) which would help me select between between Motor Power Monitors manufactured by "Load Controls Inc" versus made by "Emotron"? Specific units I am considering are: Load Controls Model PMP-25 and Emotron EL-FI M20. I plan to mount these small units in the motor starter cabinet doors, if that makes any difference.

Ted,
I worked for a distributor for a few years that sold the Emotron units and I now work in a chemical facility where we use the Load Controls units. I'm concidering replacing a couple Load control units with Emotron due to a lack of confidence in the accuracy of the LC units. I'm installed several and have yet to find one that reads the HP draw it should. I find it hard to believe several different manufacturers of rotating equipment can all mis calculate the HP draw of thier equipment. If I had my choice I would go with the Emotron. They are both easy to use but I think the Emotron is more accurate. |

Why we need the motor power monitor? What is HP draw?
