I have given up on the UltraSpec and bought a new Damalini D450 from Reliability Direct.
The UltraSpec had a burnt track when someone tried to charge with a reversed polarity charger. We think we have fixed that now, but the flat battery allowed the firmware to dissolve. Unfortunately CSi support = $; even though the unit has been out of production for many years that still wanted to charge for the firmware. We don't want to spend any more money because there might be more damage to the board that we think.
