Keep it flowing: I have a PdM program/s of well over 12,000 points with route techs. When I need to make a field check I use a ME-42 (Machine Evaluator) portable hand-held analyzer (it works). This enables me to immediately go to the job and collect data (vib, tach, temp) and evaluate via auto-diagnosis with the analyzer and not interupt the tech's route or have to fool with the analyzer and make set-ups. This save me time and money and gets the job done.

An engineer? Have a calculator; need field data - this is a very handy tool that goes with you everywhere and will strap on your wrist + it works! The machine evaluator software is like having an analyst with you. It picks out problems (resonanace, bearing flaws, imbalance, electrical, ect...) and helps verify specific faults in a machine.
