Looking for recommendation on some introductory reliability maintenance books to purchase. What books have people found to be useful? Which have you found to be over rated?

Thanks,

Mark

The standard book that (I believe) has been elevated to bible status is
John Moubray (1997) , Reliability Centered Maintenance, Second Edition, Industrial Press, New York
ISBN 0-8311-3078-4

Maybe other peopleknow of better texts

I agree with Ecky - Moubray's book is excellent.

I also like Mac Smith's book - RCM--Gateway to World Class Maintenance in addition to John Moubray's Reliability-Centered Maintenance Second Edition

Also - stay tuned as we are publishing a new book by Jack Nicholas Jr. and R Keith Young "Advancing Reliability and Maintenance". This book is focused on RCM and wll be available in March 2008. Jack will also lead a series of FREE web workshops on the same subject starting Feb 2008.

You asked for reliability maintenance books so assuming you are not fixated on RCM a great book for the tactical end of things is Uptime (second addition) By James Reyes-Picknell

I agree with Smith, I have recommended this for all clients to start with, it does not matter whether they are planners of reliability professionals, an excellent insight into the basics
