Can you please hightlights that what is the hereicy of Plant Maintence.



Currently we are using one to one relation i.e same say A1000 is Planning and as well as maintence plant



We are having six plants say A1000,A2000,A30000,A40000,A5000,A6000.



Now we want a cetral Plant say B1000 and again relationship will be one to one as warehouse will be central.



In this senario Planner Group will be the only primary key to get report for B1000( While I want that we should use A1000,A2000,A30000,A40000,A5000,A6000, we must define these old plants enabling each buisness unit to get its report as planner group will b more than one for every A1000,A2000,A30000,A40000,A5000,A6000.



I will appreciate your guidance at this issue.

We use a one to one relation between our Planning Plant and our Maintenance Plants.
We started with three plants, lets call them P1, P2, and P3.
* The P2 had their own Maintenance Manager with his staff of Maintenance Supervisors/Engineers and Planning Section. We set:
** a Maintenance Plant P2, and
** a Planning Plant P2.

* The plants P1 and P3 share the same Maintenance Manager; Maintenance Engineers/ Supervisors are assigned by plant, the Maintenance Stockroom Supervisor has one stockroom at each plant, The Maintenance Planning supervisor has one Planner at P1 and three planners for P3.
** We debated when setting up SAP R/3 if setting both Maintenance Plants P1 and P3 to be served by a single Planning Plant P1 or creating independent Planning Plants P1 and P3.
** After evaluating our setup, and realizing that our Planners are dedicated by plant, we decided for two Planning Plants P1 and P3 to mimic in the system what we are doing physically.

Bottom line:
* How your Planning Department is set up?
* From where the planning of the plants A1000 to A6000 come?
*** from a central unit at one of the plants?
*** each plant plans their work?
