We set different order types for:
* PM
* Corrective
* Emergency
* Improvements (new installations, modifications, others), and
* Calibration
A refurbishment order has three options:
* If the reason to do it is to repair the equipment then classified as a corrective order;
* if the equipment is operating but the reason of the refurbisment is to extend the useful life then it is a Improvement.
* If the refurbishment is like a overhaul to be made (for example) every 5 years then it is classified as a PM.

I thought refurbishment order (RO) is meant to repair equipment which needs to be returned to the store or warehouse for proper storage after the refurbishment as a refurbished spare eg a motor, valve, pump etc (ie not immediately returned to the plant). A complete replacement of the equipment at site minimizes repair times.

We cannot use CM or PM work order type because the refurbishment work process has to return the refurbished equipment to the warehouse including its refurbishment cost.

Aromatics, what is the SAP Help note for RO work order type?

Yes! Josh

SAP help can explain the concept but I would to know the shortcut to implement it.

You will know the shortcut if you have mapped the special-purpose work process for refurbishment WO ie from overhaul or repair in the workshop to the warehouse.

Alternatively you may need a consult who has rolled out this refurbishment order before.

It's a special feature of SAP PM that needs to be utilised to reap its full benefits.
