Hi forgive me if this is not the correct place to ask this as I am new to forums. We have been using SAP PM for 8 months and have now come across the following issue.
We have material which is stocked but was not flagged as repairable at the point of creation, we now want to change this to be repairable but the system will not let us. Is there a way to achieve this? |

Hi Fred,
You're forgiven. We have come across this too. I checked with our MM expert and SAP will only allow the material type to be changed if there has been no movements of any kind made. If there has been movements then you will need to flag this material for deletion and start again with a new material number. The transaction code to change material type is MMAM. If you run this transaction, press F1 with cursor int he material type field and then select Application Help the SAP help for this transaction will run and this details the prerequisite requirements for changing the material type. |

have you checked the refurbishment order type?
you actually issue a maintenance order (IW81)with reference to a material and all the cost incurred is captured and used to update the valuation of the material. |
