Has anyone configured asset creation with automatically creation of equipments?
Are there any watch outs especially with synchronization of data?
Has anyone linked the material master to the asset/equipment to trigger depreciation switch on/off on installing and removing a capital spare?

I tried it once before together with our FI-AA consultant. Asset creation can also create equipment as well. The configuration for this is under FI-AA. It synchronizes the common fields of the asset and equipment master data

Inventory cost should be taken care by Moving average price.Rather,Depreciate you equipment using the acccounting class code and chose correct method of depreciation and use correct depreciation account.

One more imporant abount plant asset management is that depreciation of plant asset should be based each individual machines by equipment class.Some time FI donot discuss with PM guy and instead create dummy asset for depreciation which is not the best practice.This information should also be used to benchmark KPI/ERV
