Can anyone tell me what the advantages/ disadvantages are of using transaction IW42 for confirming time in SAP pm rather than CATS

I think direct time confirmation into WOs is done using IW42 (real time) whereas CATS (Cross Application Time Sheet) will do the same time confirmation after approval and scheduled update but it can capture time not spent on WOs directly eg training, meetings, sport activities etc.
