Hi, our business operates on receiving notification defect reports which are turned to PM orders to allow a task to actioned-often we have mutiple tasks of the same type that can be attached to the PM order thus allowing mutiple notifications to be actioned under the one PM order.

One of the notifcations has now turned into a bigger task than first anticipated and so i wish to capture the costs under a seperate PM order. I cannot seem to 'un-attach' the notifcation from the original PM order in order that i can 're-attach' to the new PM order, there is also often occasions where i need to complete notifications that have been attached to a PM order while keeping the PM order open and at REL status.

Any advice? As you might have guessed i am no expert so i hope i have made my self clear. Within our system i only have access to the production client and not to IMG or anything. I do know that we do not have the funcationality to create Sub orders set up.

Many thanks for any advice given

What version of SAP are you using?

From version 4.7 and later it is possible to detach the notification from which the order was created. However, the trick is you need to detach it twice. Once from the work order header and once from the notification in order to completely sever the link.

In earlier versions it is not possible to do this at all.

Solved - I can NOCO within a PM order, However struggling to un-assign the notifcation from the PM order.

I think the system i am using is SAP Ecc 6.0, (although i might be looking at the wrong field)so based on the above i will be unable to.

Jan39, you should ask your PM Analyst to help you. DO you have one?

We have one but he is very busy, and in my desire to learn more......

Our SAP system is configured differently to others and so it is difficult to get valid information from forum sites.

Assuming you have the correct authorisation level in SAP -

To delete the assignment of a notification to an order run transaction IW22 to Change the notification and follow this menu path
Maintenance Notification
- Order
-- Delete Assignment

If the work order was created from this notification then you will also need to disconnect the notification on the Order Header Data tab of the work order. Use the icon on this tab to do this - I cannot find a menu path option for this task in my system (also ECC 6.0).

Jan39, I thought providing daily support is part of the PM Analyst job unless if you have a PM expert user to support you. How about spending him a drink or lunch? Will he still say busy?

Have you been trained to use SAP PM?

We have one each for the 10 modules we posses, and as we are a natiowide company it is difficult to secure his time.

Our company are not keen to experiment with SAP, and i had to push hard just to get teh use of Maintenance plans up and running.

I wish a drink could get his attention.
