What is the new Netweaver Platform from SAP mean for the plant maintenance and enterprise asset management systems from SAP?

Can we expect to see more third party maintenance plug-ins?

Terrance,

I represent NRX Global Corp. SAP has teamed with NRX to market and sell VIP, which is a Netweaver-based solution that enhances and augments both SAP PM and EAM. We have been specifically chosen to work with SAP for our domain expertise and because our solutions are so well intertwined with SAP's PM and EAM strategies.

NRX offers both a Netweaver-inherent solution and an NRX plug-in.

VIP - is sold and supported by SAP that enhances usability and roll based execution for PM.

ACM - is NRX's Asset Content Manager that enhances PM environments by creating drill-down Visual Bill of Materials.

I've asked my marketing team to include some additional information below;

As a Packaged Composite Application built on the NetWeaver SOA-based platform, the VIP solution from NRX provides companies with the ability to surface functionality and information from heterogeneous systems into a unified portal environment that fosters collaboration within a business process context.

VIP extends and enhances the usability and functionality of SAP’s solution for Enterprise Asset Management. Highly user-centric, VIP provides engineering, maintenance, operations and supply chain users with configurable role-based access to work and materials management business processes and content. VIP’s simple-to-use interface and tailored views into relevant functionality and information empower both casual and power users to make more productive use of the EAM system, and in particular, the SAP Plant Maintenance module. This improved usability allows companies to dramatically increase the adoption of the SAP system.
