If I am understanding your question correctly it can be done by running a list editing transaction for the technical objects, for example IH06 for functional locations or IH08 for Equipment.
In the classification section of the selection screen use Class type, Class and valuation to eneter your object class critieria, in your case for PUMPS.
Execute this and you now have a list of all your pumps.
Then from the menu select Environment - Orders or Environment - Notifications to go get the list you are looking for.

You can also use MCI8 cost analysis, then drill down by hirearchy. Sellect Equipment or Functional location class. Depending on your class hirearchy you can drill in to general pumps/centrifugal pumps etc.
We have a user defined analysis that takes MCI8 and allows drill down to the order level. The advantage in using the SAP analysis is you see period costs and not total order costs. If the order carries over multiple periods your cost numbers will not match Finance.
