The issue (scheduling orders), as stated in the initial question, is a challenge for many users of SAP-PM. For this reason, we've developed a graphical user interface all with-in the SAP-PM module allowing users to:
1) display work orders in a Gantt chart fashion similar to Primavera or MS Project
2) display available and used capacity for work centers and trades people
3) change dates via drag and drop on the Gantt chart
4) assign people via drag and drop on the Gantt chart

Users have appreciated the ease of use to develop an outage schedule and weekly or daily schedule with this layout. As well, all the data stays in SAP-PM. No external program or interace is required.

Visits www.prometheusgroup.us for more details or call me at 919-341-2733 for a live demo.

For those of you with questions about Impress Software, maybe I can answer a few of them here (hopefully being informative, without being too verbose). Read as much as you wish …

As you know, a company’s Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Enterprise Project Management (EPM) and Spatial Asset management (SAM) business processes often span multiple disconnected systems, and, consequently, they provide internal business challenges, as mentioned above.

Impress Software is the bridge solution that enables enterprises utilizing SAP to maximize and extend their SAP investment. Impress ‘packaged integration applications’ enable SAP to be the true system of management and system of record, while enabling end-users (stake holders) to operate in a familiar and productive environment.

Impress has been providing solutions to complex integration problems for over a decade. We focus on integration scenarios that are not only complex, but also demand a high level of performance and reliability. It is this commitment to excellence that has made Impress the packaged integration application provider to over 60 diversified companies, including: Rockwell Collins, Huntsman, BP, Agrium Chemicals, NB Power, Alcatel, Bombardier, Nebraska Public Power, Chevron Texaco, Water One, ConocoPhillips, DuPont, Marin Municipal Water District, Bayer, Shell, Aquarion, and Valero Energy.

“Impress for EPM” seamlessly synchronizes and processes data between SAP and Primavera (Premier Partner) or Microsoft Project (Gold Partner) using best practices - allowing organizations to optimally plan, schedule, and execute IT and Capital Projects, Plant Turnarounds, Outages, and Routine Maintenance.

“Impress for GIS” seamlessly synchronizes SAP with GIS solutions from ESRI and Miner & Miner, using best practices - automatically streamlining and enhancing your spatial asset management initiatives.

Impress Software has combined this application experience with deep business process knowledge to deliver a set of productized industry best practices—called ‘packaged integration applications’. Leveraging proven best practices, ‘packaged integration applications’ bridge existing systems at a fraction of the time and cost compared to custom integration services.

‘Packaged integration applications’ are a new solution to an old problem. Enabling flexible, efficient data synchronization between enterprise applications can help you make the most of your existing IT assets, while minimizing the reliance on expensive custom integration services. With packaged integration applications you can:

• Speed deployment through the use of out-of-the-box best practices

• Maximize productivity by allowing users to work in their natural environments

• Reduce costs and improve accuracy through data synchronization

• Minimize total cost of ownership with a supported, commercially available software product

Impress Software delivers these solutions with a seasoned professional services team and partner ecosystem, ensuring that your integration projects will achieve the highest level of success.
