I do not know if this is the place to make some questions about specific piece of equipment. But I am going to buy, perhaps, SDT170 to use mostly in controlling lubrication of bearings. I have heard that it´s possible to connect the grease adapter to listen to the quality of sound after and before greasing, besides of comparing Db levels before and after.

The problem I find with this equipment is that my inspectors cannot see alarm levels in equipment to know automatically if it´s necessary to grease or not. (SDT people talk about 6 Db over baseline).

Any expert user to help me or to give me other solution?

When you say that the inspectors cannot see alarm levels is it because you are trying to use a 170 without software?

Which version of 170 are you looking at?
