As part of my duties as a CM Tech in a major Australian steel works, I have been asked to monitor a bank of Hydraulic Unloading valves in one of our mills. As such, I am chasing any info I can get on using Ultrasound in this application. I currently use SDT equipment.
Any infoe would be greatly appreiciated.

I have detected leaking hydraulic valves with a SDT 150 meter and 097 and 095 hand-held contact sensors. The leak sounded like a high pitched whistle in the headphones.

Remember when testing hydraulic valves, do not forget that that valve supply's something, if the leak is further down the circuit you may have an open valve suppling the leak.
