My company has a KrautKramer Branson USN52 ultrasonic unit. I have never used it before. I've played around with it a little.

We use it primarily for diagnosing broken shafts. What are some basic settings I need to input? What dB spikes am I looking for that would indicate a cracked or tweaked shaft?

We do not have a manual, so I have been practicing a bit.

Thanks!

Here is some info online, and there may be other as well:

Most of the folks on this discussion board do not discuss flaw detection, but instead discuss lower frequency (35 to 150 kHz) ultrasound for detecting leaks and mechanical faults like bearings.

Thanks for your response. I am looking for a manual. So if I can't find one, I will probably use this service.....Thanks again.
