Constellation Energy is looking for a PdM Technician for its West Coast Operations Equipment Reliability Unit located in Fresno, CA. This is a new position due to growth. The PdM Technician will assist performance engineers with conducting performance tests of power plant components by researching test and maintenance history, engineering design data, applicable codes and standards, computer software and published literature; plan and perform basic field tests; select, transport and install specialized precision test instrumentation on plant equipment; operate test instruments, perform in-field or laboratory calibration and adjustments, and verify proper functioning of the instruments; interpret instrument readings, compare to expected results and to corresponding plant instrumentation; investigate and resolve any discrepancies with the engineering staff, operations and maintenance personnel, vendors, and representatives of other departments, recommending corrective action. The work environment for this position is field (power plants), office and laboratory. There may be some weekend, night and/or shift work required. Basic requirements for this position include: (1) Over six years experience in power or industrial plant maintenance/operations/instrument & electrical, or in Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programmatic or PdM equipment or the equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience; (2) Familiarity with precision measurement instrumentation and mechanics of rotating machinery; (3)Ability to become proficient in balancing rotating equipment including turbine-generators, fans, motors and reactor cooling pumps; (4) Ability to become proficient in computer hardware and software (especially PI Database, Microsoft Excel, and infrared thermography software); (5) Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision; (6) Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively; (7) Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Company driving standards; (8) Satisfactory completion of Technician Occupations Selection System Test; (9) Must be willing to travel to Constellation Power Generating facilities throughout the fleet, (primarily 30% - 50% travel within the state of CA).
