The major task for this position is to create a Predicative maintenance environment instead of a reactive maintenance environment. To manage maintenance, utilities and various plants projects to ensure the most effective utilization of people resource, equipment and capital. Provide direction and coordination to the Maintenance Department to successfully achieve vision, goals and objectives.



Provides for the proper maintenance of the plant process equipment, utility systems, equipment, buildings and grounds at the site.



Plans, schedules and coordinates department people resource, which includes on-shift multi-skilled maintenance people resource.



Maintains an economical system of spare parts and supplies. Utilizes on site vendor stores to manage some MRO requirements to reduce capital investments.



Provides skill development to the Mechanical Services Group to achieve continuous improvement.



Manages a predictive/preventive maintenance system that supports the maximum optimization of plant resources.



Researches and makes recommendations on methods to improve equipment performance.



Maintains economical operation of the steam and air supply system.



Plans, schedules and coordinates required people resource to operate, troubleshoot, and repair systems.



Provides for the back-up systems to effectively provide resource capital and people resource to maintain plant operations that meet customer demand.





Develops and manages various expensed and capitalized projects.



Initiates written project required.



Coordinates the actual project work with sector customers.



Manages the capital projects construction teams including the approval of people resource time and scheduling



Provides direction and resource to the Maintenance Department and the Plant that assures safety culture and practices support the expectations of meeting the vision of the corporation of a top 25% of all companies.



Ensures proper communication systems are developed and practiced to assure that individuals are kept well informed with pertinent, timely information necessary for the successful operation of the facility.



Manages a department that fosters a team environment to fully support the objectives of plant operations while using various metrics to measure continuous improvement of the plant and team performance.



Major Challenges:



To continually maintain the operation of the Plant at optimum levels of production, minimum downtime, minimum people resource, and ensure safe work behavior and work conditions.



To continually develop efficient planning systems and cost control measures in order to ensure maximum people resource efficiency and operate within the guidelines of the Operating Plan and Budget.



To continually develop and guide people resource of the Maintenance Department to maintain high skill levels that complement and strengthen the Vision 2000 expectations.



Qualifications



A minimum of a Bachelor in Science degree in engineering with a background in manufacturing and management.



Must have the ability to be multi- task orientated to assure the meeting of departmental and facility goals.



Must have the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing on technically related topics to both internal and external customers.





Must be able to get along with internal and external customers and employees.
