Hello there,

This is my first post here. I am trying to learn to calculate Availability Assessment of an Oil Field. I have the final Reliability Block Diagrams(RBD) carried out by my pre-decessor using a Software called RAPTOR 7.0.

By Looking at the diagrams , I can see the final values of Lambda, MDT and Capacity. The accompanying documents state that the failure distribution have been done using weibull analysis.

A)Can Anyone guide me so as to what basic data I require , in order to re-build the RBD using RAPTOR?( Beta, eta, etc)

B)Is there way I can back work to get these values from the final Lambda ,MDT Values?

Your comments will be much appreciated.

Best regards

Vasant

Hello rbiuser,

You question is not compleet clear to me.
Do you have the program yourself or only the output?

I have some experience with the old 4.0 version you can download for free. See earlier discussion http://maintenanceforums.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/2091034...771054922#7771054922

In the attachement you see a example what is needed to run the simulation. Look also on the barringer1 website or the https://www.arinc.com for a few examples.

I do not think it possible to get the failure and repair distributions data back from the final results like Ao, MTBDE, MDT etc.

Hello Rogier,

Thanks for your reply and I do apologise for lack of clarity in my post.

I have the RAPTOR 7.0 Student edition and Hardcopies of the results of a previous analysis. When I set out to re-create RBD files using the Package and hard copies , I could not proceed for want of information.

You are possibly right in the sense that it is not possible to get failure and repair distribution data from the final results.

I may have to follow another approach to solve this problem.

Regards

Vasant
