I have seen this chart somewhere on this forum but I could not convert AFBMA number completely to SKF number.
I want to convert AFBMA Number 50BC03JP30X28 to equivalent SKF number.From the chart I referred, last two digit numbers could not be converted.
Can someone help.

I had no luck with my conversion charts on that one.

You might try http://www.skfusa.com
At one time that had an on-line afbma converter page.

As you probably know, those tail-digits are not relevant if your objective is vib monitoring. But may be important when ordering replacement bearings.

You can always ask your bearing distributor to convert it also.

AFBMA 50BC03JP30X28 is equivalent to
50BC03 = SKF 6310,
J = Pressed Steel Cage,
P = One Shield,
3 = C3 (Looser than Normal) Radial Clearance/Preload,
0 = Normal, ABEC1, ISO P7 Tolerance Class
X28 = S1 (Heat Stabalized to 200 degC Special Feature

This is from SKF Bearing Handbook For Electric Motors, SKF Book # 140-430, June 2000

I looked in that publication and missed it.

Just to follow a little further, the SKF identification would be 6310-Z-J-C3-S1

6310 = 50BC03
Z single shielded
J = pressed steel cage
C3 looser than normal internal clearance
S1 - Heat Stabilized to 200C

Tolerance class 0 is standard and does not require a suffix for SKF bearings.

One thing I can't remember - do single-shielded bearings come pregreased or only doubleshielded bearings?

A tool that would be handy for you is the Bearing Expert program which contains over 1 Million Bearings. Can cross reference by part number, dimensions, bearing type, manufacturer and AFBMA number. Also contains over 200,000 bearings fault frequencies.
