Yesterday we had one issue one a steam turbine, 18MW and 6500RPM. There was a request from operation that there is a lot of moisture in the lube oil system. The operation said they are separating around 30 L from the lube oil that is full with water from the lube oil tank.

After checking the machine we found the ejector was not working at all. Everything went normal in the other day. I am just wondering what other problem could be happened upon missing to put the ejector online.

Are you talking of the ejector used for pulling vacuum in condenser or you have gland steam ejectors? Pl. mention complete details when you post a question.

This ejector is drawing air+steam from the condenser. If it is not working, condenser vacuum will fall . I think, there must be indication of condenser vacuum and alarm on low vacuum. This vacuum ejector can not be responsible for water in oil. Also, I think, the plant can not run for one week without vacuum pulling ejector.
It should be gland steam ejector. If this ejector is not working, steam will leak through the glands of HP turbine gland into the bearing housing pedestal and mix up with oil drain . But , now a days, gland steam blowers are being used in stead of ejector.

How much is the console oil quantity? In thousands of liters?

Isn't the console being centrifuged on regular intervals or as defined by lab analysis?

When was the console last cleaned?
