Hello,

I would like to extend or deepen my knowledge of RCA. I thought it would more beneficial if I attend a formal course. I'd like to learn about availability of courses on RCA which are held in Europe, preferribly in UK. Thanks

cheers
Rennie

Rennie,
I will be running a 4 day RCA course in Kuala Lumpur, 19th-22nd Jan 2009. I don't know whether that will suit you, if so you can contact me on eml@effective-maintenance.com or petroEdge Singapore at their website.

Hi Vee,

Thanks for your reply. I'm afraid Kuala Lumpur is quite out of my way to travel. But thanks alot.

To be honest I was expecting at least a few replies. My understanding is that this is quite an important and requested 'skill' but judging the lack of replies I'm not that sure anymore.....at least in Europe.

RCA is best done in teams, with participation from Operations, Maintenance (Mech., Instr. Electr.), Specialist Engineering (Rot. M/c, Corrosion, Inspection).
As I am sure you know well, the business purpose of attending an RCA course must be to improve Reliability and Integrity. In my view, for any Co. to use the process well, about 10% of its Ops/Maint. team should receive RCA training. In-house training is usually more effective than public sessions, as the delegates are more focused, homogeneous and share a common culture. So I prefer to work with in-house delegates if possible, especially as it helps me to get the Management Team on board. The latter matters, as RCA falls flat without a Business Process to back it up.
If this approach is of interest, please contact me (and/or other providers).
