I can only acquire a support agreement for 3 more years at 1 year intervals. Is there anyone out there other than CSI that repairs the older CSI hardware that’s not being supported anymore? Just looking to the future if something happens and I need repairs to a 2120. It was hard enough to acquire the one I have and would like to keep it in service for 10 years or more.

Thanks,
Wally K

Seems like I saw something in one of the back issues of Reliability Magazine about a company that repairs the meters. Maybe someone has the magazine.

Thanks and Have a Great Day,

The problem you will have is that once spare parts dry up for CSI, any other repairers won't be able to get them either, probably, (though they may be a bit more inclined to try and repair bits rather than replace.)

As you have a sevice agreement then I'd talk to your rep about getting a trade in perhaps, our local guy offered us a 2130 for £7000. We wouldn't get the payback (especially as we'd have to upgrade from MasterTrend as well) so it's not worth it for us, but I reckon with an agreement you'd probably get it cheaper with a bit of hard negotiation.

Gary,

I think you forgot your <vendor warning> on the post above.

Take Care,

When one posts an inquiry on this board they do so for a reason: to seek solutions to their problems and discover potential alternatives to the norm.

I feel there is nothing wrong (vendor or not) in advising folks of alternative resources in order to give them opportunities to perform research and make educated decisions.

I have been involved in the Machine Condition Monitoring industry since 1979 in some form, been associated with some of the most talanted folks in the industry, and am aware, by default, of many different company capabilites, strengths and weaknesses. I feel I owe it to others within the industry to provide information that may be of help and allow them to decide if my information has been of help.

And Chris, incidentally, I am know longer associated with Vibration Analysis Limited as a direct employee (and never was for that matter, only a Sales Rep) and am currently employed by another MCM Service company. I do know, however that VAL is capable of performing the requested work.

Best regards,
Gary
