hi sam
the required is a portable system not full time (permanent monetoring)
you have to detect the machine with abnormal vibration values then use this system to take time waveform, spectra and phase shift then diagnose the problem to determine the source of vibration and recommend the results to the maintanace department to solve it and then recheck for verification.

thank you mr ralph stewart about your helping

Hi Eng.Ahmad,
There are two popular and dynamic systems available, which I have used in the past...SKF and CSI; that you may wish to consider.
For technical support and turnaround of parts you need to consider availability of local support depending on where you are located.

Good Luck...Rajan

hi Dear RajSha

thank you for ur fast respond
we havent in our country atechnical support for CSI but we have agents for IRD and SKF and iam not stisfied from these supports as technical supports when u have a problem in the software to solve it.
some one asked me that skf software is goos for rolling element bearing problems diagnosis and not efficient for other parts
what do u think

thank you

Hi Eng.Ahmad,
Any tool/software is only as good as the person who uses/interprets it. I have used varied vibration data collectors/analyzers and so called expert system softwares. The person who uses these tools need to have working knowledge of the gadget and the machines to diagnose a defect and propose resolutions.
I have used SKF analyzers successfuly to identify various machine faults be it mechcnical, electrical or structural.

Regards....Rajan

Eng.Ahmad,

Glad to be of help. I am not an NDT person though I used these in the past in failure analysis of equipment. Hence, can't help you with the procedures.
But, like cheddar-caveman asks, if you tell us your location perhaps we may point you in the right direction, close to you.

Cheers...Rajan

Eng.Ahmad,

I've been involved in the CBM/PdM and Reliability techniques for quite awhile, both in the Far East and North America. Currently, I'm involved in Asset Management and work out of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
I have no contacts in Jordan on NDT matters but, I should think that your trainer in Houston should be able to support you, on this; at least point you in the right direction.
Sounds like you are appointed/trained to handle the show single handedly. It can be quite a challenge to run a one man show in this field.

Good Luck...Rajan
