HI GUYS, MAYBE I'M WRONG, BUT I THINK THAT "COLD SPRING" HAS A LOT TO DO WITH RESONANCE CONDITIONS AND THAT IS A FAIRLY COMMON OCCURRENCE. PUMP SUCTION AND DISCHARGE FLANGES SHOULD BE MATED AS GOOD AS POSSIBLE. AM I WRONG? THANKS, MANNY K

I think excessive pipe loading of the pump can have a lot of other effects besides just resonance. Can intefere with alignment or cause changes in alignment. Can cause casing distortion which can interfere with impeller and diffuser gaps and probably other bad things.
