Suggestions for setting up Tacho channel on ZonicBook/618E:

- check the sample rate (F max). higher sample rates provides better tach resolution. for 14kRPM case, suggest Fmax >= 5 KHz.

(increase spectral lines to maintain frequency resolution.)

- if Tach Signal has high runout / noise / scratches / etc... the Tacho inputs may reject tach pulses. in this case, use Analog inputs.

Buzz:

- What is the coupling setting for your Tacho channel? (AC or DC)

Mike.

Can somebody tell me why ZonicBook has 4 tacho inputs? Is it necessary to have 4?

It is if you're looking at a machine train with different speeds within the train (motor, belt drive to gearbox to pump. Several different scenarios come to mind.

You may also want to split out the different machines running close to one another to rule out the cross talk.

I'm sure there are other, more experianced chaps who will give some other reasons.
