Hi guys,
I'm looking for smaller boxes to carry my slotted shims around various sites. I would still have a full box on the truck, but the 65 lb 5"x5" box is starting to get heavier. Any suggestions? I know several of the vendors sell their boxes, but they seem pricey for just a box, maybe I'm outta touch. Thanks, Sean |

you may have some options: more if you are really good w/sheet metal. Cut the box in 2 and recap the ends. OR, take to a local shop and have them do it. Or, use the handy mans secret weapon - duct tape. I've heard ebay.com has everything. Or, remove half and put in a piece of foam.
I use color coded plastic (elastomer) as they are light, strong and better in many cases (withstanding chemicals very good) plus a lot cheaper and you can also have "Soft Shoe" shims to correct for wedge foot. [note: I started using color-coded in 1967 and they are good]. Also, these will fit into your alignment kit or behind the foam.
