I need some help with fault freq. set up in CSI. It's been a long time since I fooled with it. How do I set up a fault freq. for line frequency (3600 CPM) with 7 harmonics? Not sure what to put in the fields: INPUT TYPE, REFERENCE FREQUENCY, COMPONENT SET ID, CSI/USER, 1st & 2nd modifier. Do I set this up under TREE STRUCTURE measurement points, then pick the motor points I want to tag it to? This is on some 1600 HP DC motors. Any help will be appreciated.

Aware only of ASCENT software used in Comtest.

For a DC motor shouldnt the electrical frequency be at 360 HZ/21600 CPM and for an AC motor 120HZ/7200 CPM.

I can see a need to track the first 7 harmonics of line frequency on a dc motor. That would include scr firing frequency. Ralph just misnamed his example 2 x lf instead of line frequency harmonics or something else.

Thanks fellas. That's what I needed.
David, Yes, the electrical frequency should be at 21,600 cpm. What you don't want to see in the data is 60 hz (3600 cpm) or harmonics up to 5x LF. From what I've been taught, this is indicators of bad cards, loose connections, or bad SCRs. |
