Hi,
I was just wondering what ISO norms you rely on.
I'm lookin got compile a list of different norms needed, mostly for:
- Balancing
- Alignments (rotors, shaft & rolls)
- Vibration acceptance

So far, I have found:

ISO 1940 - 1:2003
ISO 14694:2003

ISO 10816 Parts 1-6: Evaluation by measurements on non-rotating parts
ISO 7919 Parts 1-5: Measurements on rotating shafts
ISO 11342: Balancing flexible rotors

Of all the above, I believe we use ISO 10816-3 the most.

Wonder if you guys could explain what is meant by "vibration acceptance?" Is this the same as field commissioning or startup testing of a new, rebuilt or upgraded machine? (ensure process piping properly attached, shaft alignment ok, power supply connected, control system programmed, etc.)

Does "acceptance" refer to meeting a warranty requirement from an OEM? Or does it just refer to meeting whatever administrative procedures the site reliability engineering or maintenance group has established - such as "always collect a vibration baseline to be used for trending" or whatever???

I suppose it depends on what the context is. What standard are you looking at, or are you looking at a contract?

Standards are generally for purchasing purposes, and then "acceptance" is what would be allowed on the test stand prior to the customer accepting the machine as meeting the contract requirements.

You have started down the right road. We include AMCA 204-96 (BV-3) as well as our own internal standard and ISO 14694. We use this for newly installed air handlers for the most part.
