I am looking for field information on grouts.
Of course, I can look it up in a catalog but practical experience is invaluable. Do you prefer one grout over another and why? Any bad experience? I need a grout with settling time not exceeding 48hrs provided that long term consistency is not compromised. Any information will be appreciated. |

David,
That's a pretty general question. Does it need to be non-shrink grout, ferrous or non-ferrous, chemical resistant, certain psi strength.... I haven't dealt with grouts for years, but back in my construction days, we always liked Master Builder for standard nsg's and Escoweld for epoxy grout. David Eason |

Escoweld has some good epoxy stuff that might meet your cure times. It's not cheap, but works well.

My advice is to call Jim Mosebrook with Bill Spitzer & Associates. He's in Houston and has many years and much experience with grout and grouting. 713 937-8977.

Used some epirez product a couple of christmas eves ago and it worked like a charm, cured in 24 hours at around 20 deg C, without acclerant, and poured like cream. Not hard to mix and has a tough glossy finish. Depends on your application but if there is any adverse environmental factors and life is a factor I would go epoxy .
