There is a book titled "Vibration of Bladed Disc Assemblies: D.J. Ewins and A.V. Srinivasan, eds. ASME, New York, NY 1983, 160 pages" that probably is out of print and also is highly theoretical, something I suspect you don't need at this stage.
I would suggest you do a google search on fan vibration and see what you might be able to extract. There appears to be some worthwhile materials out there. John from PA |

Gevenag,
I have not seen a book completely devoted to the topic of fan vibrations. Here is a book that claims some discussion about vibrations: http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/bookdescription.cws_home/706633/description I have worked on many types and sizes of fans (up to 8000-hp) to solve sound and vibration problems. I have had to acquire my knowledge from a lot of sources, but I have not seen a book that puts everything you need into one convenient place. Here are a list of topics: Fan types and applications Fan operating principles (the fan curve and scaling laws) Fan control methods (variable speed, cariable blade angle, inlet/outlet dampers, and inlet vane) Sound and vibrations unique to fans (vane-pass, surge/stall, turbulence) Vibration measurements including torsional Rotor dynamics Structural dynamics including testing methods Bearings including lubriucation and cooling Foundation types and design Rotor balancing methods Shaft alignment Sound measurements Noise control methods I would write a fan vibration book if I could make some money by selling it!
