Dear all,
I am trying to search the information about Vibpro – Advance diagnostic software from CSI/Emerson before I decided to buy it. Is that true that Vibpro already included in the new version of Rbmware (5.1)? Please kindly share the information if you have one. I also ask Emerson the same question but no response yet. I'd like to find out directly from CSI user in this forum. Thanks Andi |

Here is the information you requested Dave |

Dave, thanks for the info... I'd been wondering if I should install 5.1. Since I have a "keyed" version, I think I'll try it on a spare PC. Some of the plot options look interesting, but after 18 years with Plotdata, I have a 'system' that I am hesitant to change.
Has anyone decided not to install the 5.1 upgrade? Regards, Rusty |

I consider myself a person who welcomes change, but after seeing v5.1 and now the latest v5.2, I refuse to upgrade my databases until I absolutely have to.....

Hi Dave, thanks for the information.
Anyway, I just received information from Emerson. They said that they already include Vibpro in the 5.1 version but it will not active if we don't have the license for Vibpro in our previous Rbmware version. Regards, Andi |

Is the new vibpro the old Nspecter?

Rusty,
5.1 still Has plotdata and all of the old programs we're used to, except for Vibpro, in the Tools module. I'm thinking that in time they're going to move everything so I figure I'll take the little steps as they drag me along. Hopefully, CSI will take their time and get it right. I really like the changes I've seen in 5.1 SO FAR, but I've only been playing with it for a week. |

I spoke at some length with a CSI support person who assured me the Plot Data would be included in RBMware until all its capabilities are included in the new Diagnostic Plotting module they're rolling out. I am going to hold CSI to that; if Plot Data's capabilities aren't included, I will cease installing upgrades.
One thing I really don't think I'm gonna like is how you have to drill down to the point level and all your spectra, waveforms and trend parameters are listed under the point, like a Windows Explorer tree; I have 15 years worth of data that will amount to several screens I'll have to wade through. I have let CSI know my concerns every chance I get, and I encourage others to do likewise. Squeaky wheels and such... Sam, VibPro is a plotting module for data collected with the advanced VA and Transient packages CSI sells. |

I've never understood why it's called 'VibPro' instead of 'VibePro'.... 'vib' is pronounced short 'i' and rhymes with fib, nib, rib, etc. 'Vibe' has a long 'i' and rhymes with jibe, ride, side, etc.
Pontiac has a car called the Vibe, as in "I'm getting a good vibe about that." I saw an advertisement for a vibration related company the other day, and the company name was VibSomethingorOther..... One vibration company's website is vib.com while there is another called accu-vib.com Am I the only one who thinks this is "not right" ?? This message has been edited. Not related to the topic, but on the subject of pronunciation as per Rusty's post above;
There used to be a company around here that did industrial gas/vapour composition analysis, and they were called Analgas. Presumably the first "A" in the title was meant to be short, as in cat. |

Ian,
Must be a Tasmanian Fart Analyzer! Walt |

Aren't we already discussing that in the topic called "Gas Producers"?

The title threw me off: it isn't diagnostic software at all! Only a plot routine? Just more problems?
I just loaded the CSI 2120 where the data on the plots in the PC is 01 OCT 2007 but when the route loads in the 2120 it say 26 OCT 2007. When you can't get re-elected senator, run for president????????????????? Cordially, Sam Pickens pdmsampickens@gmail.com |

Walt,
We are in the middle of a Federal election here, so there is plenty of gas to analyse. |

Sam, the 'value' that displays when you load the route is the last overall value collected in 'route' mode. It does not come from the spectra stored in the PC. If you don't save the spectra when you collect the route point (believe it or not, some folks don't), you will have not spectra that match the date of the trend value. Or if you delete the spectra for some reason. The trend value stands alone... it does not come from the spectra. Regards, Rusty |
