Schenck has this book but the description is brief. Can someone give me a rundown on it's focus is and possible chapter listings? The description on the website is somewhat brief.

Thanks

Someone told me there was a version in English. Is that what you want, too?

I have several copies of "Balancing Technology" by Hatto Schneider. I also have "Basis of Balancing Technique 1" (Programmed Teaching) by Dr. Wolfgang Schneider.

I would be happy to send you a copy of the index of both publications if you send me your email request.

I wrote Hatto to find the real story. His response is below.

quote:

Hello Bill,

Unfortunately there is no English version of the newer editions available.

Originally this book was published by VDI – the German Association of Engineers. At that time, VDI had no interest in other languages, so Schenck published 2 books in English, basing on the 2nd and the 4th edition. As far as I know, 3000 to 4000 copies were used to inform customer of Schenck. I don’t know if there are copies left, but anyhow they are totally outdated.

Approx. 10 years back Springer took over these publishing activities from VDI. The book was totally restructured and revised. Up to now 3 editions were published – 5. in 2000, 6. in 2003 and 7. in 2007.

Springer wants to handle all languages on there own.

An English version is under discussion since many years, but Schenck RoTec seems not interested and does not make any commitments, so Springer hesitates to start this project.

2006 Springer published a French edition, initiated by Schenck France, which bought 500 copies.

Best regards

Hatto Schneider
