Thanks

For one thing, it does something with your log in so it doesn't time out. If set at 100, it's not enough to allow log in so, setting at 1000 will help. That's the extent of my knowledge on the subject.

On the old systems that used a dongle, increasing the values would slow the system down so it could read the key value, compare to software, and open the database. I don't have a clue which one did what.
The higher speed computers started having troubles because they would time out before key was read.
Don't think they do anything on the newest software, since Momma Rockwell took over the security.

ERegedit was a utility designed 'strictly' to modify the three timing parameters for the security key routines, nothing else. Try setting all 3 values to 100, it should do the trick for most systems. If not, try increasing all 3 values by 25 until you get the software to recognize the key.

Dave Mac! Wasn't sure if that was you or not - yep, it's me, good to hear from you!

Hope all is well! I still read these boards, but rarely post as you can tell.

How's business these days?

I was surprised to see you on here. You must have been a "lurker" and I didn't know it.

Hi Dave:

At the moment, I'm semi-retired. I ran a computer business in OH for the last 5 years, and sold it at the beginning of the year. Moved to southern Georgia, and loving it.

But, I will probably be looking for a job at somepoint - can't stand being bored.

And yes, I do lurk in the forums, always nice to keep up with things!
