I work in a branch office for manufacturer and have recently recieved 3 older analyzers. One of the units is a SKF Microlog CMVA10. The other two are Entek Emonitor Dataline's. I don't know much about these units except in the past the Entek's would come from our factory with the program preloaded for the route.

I have been using a vibration pen for day to day customer relations and would like to use one of the analyzers for basic analysis and, have a couple of questions.

Is it necessary to be logged into either the SKF or Entek network for these units to work?

Can I setup either unit and print the graphs and data without being logged in?

Is there 3rd party software that will allow offline worK?

Note: I have booted the PC that came with these units and every time I click on an icon the PC ask's me log in.

Thanks for any input.

Lou

Dear Louis,

Simple step is contact SKF vendor and ENTEK vendor, near from you.

I suggest to submit you're question and any complain to they're official website.

Doesnt know they're address?? Find with http://www.google.com Smiler

Best regards,

You don't have to be online to use them. Most have stand-alone capabilities without the need for a host computer or a download to do some analyses.

The entek softwear will probable operate the SKF and Dataline. So if you have a version from the past you're in business I would think.

Louie,

Sam is right. Both boxes will operate stand alone, and the older versions of odyssey (e-monitor,PM Power, etc.) will interface to both boxes.

Lou, you don't say if you have SKF or Entek software. The Entek software requires a key that plugs into the parallel port (printer) on the PC. If the software boots up, then you have access but the previous owner used a log in. This can be removed if you have access to the registration editor.

Thanks for everyones input. The PC came with a handful of floppys which I thought only gave access to the Entek website. I did not try to boot up with the "key" plugged in. Do I need to have the key plugged in, wired to the analyzer with the analyzer on?

Thanks again for everyone's input.

The key is required only for the software.
