For sure will not be straightforward, if it is possible at all. In all cases it will depend on the algorithms used in both applications if they are at least similar. To explain this, take this example, CSI package allows the user to double integrate the acceleration signal and calculates some parameters while the data collector is acquiring the vibration the data. These parameters include 1X, bandwidth amplitudes, high frequencies acceleration etc and they are trended accordingly. Other vendors do not do this or at least do not do it in the same way.
Also, remember that most of the application does not allow exporting/importing the waveform data (Not sure why! Maybe to restrict further processing). Even if you have the waveform data imported by the CSI, correct and complete processing is in doubt. Since some results are collected from longer samples than the stored waveform.
Nevertheless, I remember a software whose vendor advertises that the user can use the CSI data collector to recollect the data from the computer hard disc through the communication cable. And during this period it can be processed by the CSI software.
WWW.MIMOSA.ORG :MIMOSA - Machinery Information Management Open Systems Alliance is trying to have common protocols for widely used data acquisition applications. CSI is a member and a supporter for this organization.
Interested to know if your trail will work.
