Does any one use SAP PM for following up his program of vibration monotoring or any other tools concerning predictive maintenance?
Looking trought my experience i think that is the best way to guarantee a success of PdM program, can you give your point of view?

While consulting to a plant in WV (chemical) they had many motors on SAP monitoring current and several mechanical parameters in addition to operational parameters. It is handy to get immediate results and historical data.

I see a company each month that use SAP to spit out what routes are due each week. I don't think they use it for much else though. I think there is a problem getting good information into the program, and I know there is a problem getting anything useful out in a format they desire.

Hermann,

The plant I am in uses Maximo generated work orders for Vibration routes and Thermograghy routes and then we generate follow up work orders for any repairs we find that are needed. I believe we are going to switch to SAP in the next few years.

The SAP will allow you to monitor a varitey of mechanical and operational parameters: temp, vib, current, flow, pressure, etc... How deep are your pockets?

Look at correlation btw. introducing SAP and revenue/stock trending during a(ny) year(s) of introduction even for large corporations so, it does not only take deep pockets for the IT consulting but also for spent manhours to make the behemoth to do the bare essentials (like creating invoices). Only What I Have Seen And I Can Be Totally Wrong. Oh that must be a new one, at least for me, OWIHSAICBTW. Olov
