Generally Enpac have a much shorter battery life around half that of a datapac. The screen is much smaller. The Enpac is slightly slower (if you do not collect two channel at once with the two channel option). You can not do g/se timewave forms for low speed bearing checks.
But it does have some good features it shows you the previous measurement overall value for all the readings not just the primary reading.
If you get the balancing options it is one of the few data collectors to collect both channels at the sametime.
Also the memory cards for the Datapac are getting harder to get Windows 98 was the last operating system that supported SRAM cards. You find the Enpac 1200 uses the more standard compact flash or flash cards which can easly be seen by current Windows operating systems. Only problem with these cards is that you only need a 16Mb card and the smallest you can easily buy is 512Mb. But at least you'll be able to load all your routes at once.
The Enpac does not allow you to collect several lots of data on the same point, but you can load the same point in multiple routes to achieve the same result.
The other benefit is if you buy a enpac and change your software you can use SKF,DLI or Commtest software with the Enpac (you'll need to change firmware for SKF & DLI).

1) Enpac 1200 has Built-in laser tach. DataPac doesnot have it

2) Enpac 1200 - Single or Dual Channel. Datapac - Single Channel

3) Enpac 1200 has Internal Memory to store data and supports Memory card as well. DataPAC doesnot have Internal memory. It relies only on card and there is limitation to the size of memeory card it can support (up to 6 MB - if I remember correctly)

4) Enpac supports both gSE & ESP. DataPAC supports only gSE

5) DataPAC supports Strobelight connectivity. If I am right, Enpac doesnot support strobelight connectivity. Suggest to check on this.

Regards
