We are doing the new database setup for the vibration monitoing programs of our power plant (Mostly Pumps, fan and turbine).The following measurements are included for each point-

1.Overall RMS velocity
2.Vel spectrum with F max 20 orders 400 lines
3.Acceleration RMS magnitude
4.Acccelration spectrum F max- 60000CPM
5.Enveloping 1000Hz - 40000Hz filter

Any suggestion / negatives to improve on this are most welcome.

Hi Gevenag,

Each setup should be based on the RPM of the machine and the Fmax should be provided accordingly. Your acceleration Fmax is any way not adequate. Try to be more specific about the rpm of the equipments you want to measure.

I second Jenish in the frequency span of acceleration, it should be wider. For example, for gears, it should be at least > 2.5xGMF.

Another important point to mention is the bandwidth trends. It must be set according to the expected faults.

What software are you using for the data base?
